I’m going to take a break from telling stories and offering instruction today and simply appreciate.
Over the weekend I realised the power of the little things. It’s the little things that make life so, so sweet.
In my next blog I’m going to tell you why it’s so important to employ an ‘attitude of gratitude’, especially when you’re making the move from corporate to passion.
But for now, I’m just going to appreciate the little things like…
A Sunday afternoon nap in the pouring rain
That first hint of sun on your face as you step out into your day
That first sip of your favourite coffee or herbal tea
That cheeky smile on your niece’s face when she’s just about to test her boundaries
That cool southerly dancing on your cheek after a balmy day
BBQ get togethers with that special crew of friends
Long, lingering kisses with the person you love
That indulgent, decadent desert after an already spectacular meal
Choc tops at the movies
Choc tops dipped with popcorn at the movies
Your child’s laughter
Putting your coat on for the first time in the lead in to cooler months
Putting your first pair of shorts on in the lead in to warmer months
Climbing into a freshly made bed with new, crisp linen
Putting your bare feet in the soft, cushy grass
Finding the space for a loooong soak in a soothing bath
Fairy bread
Smile from an absolute stranger
Help from an absolute stranger
A lady bug finding its way to your shoulder and just begging you to make a wish
Stray eyelashes found on cheeks, also begging you to make a wish
A phone call from a distant friend
A nurturing hug from your mum (the kind that only she knows how to give)
An assuring pat on the back from your dad
The sand through your toes at the beach
Backyard cricket
Slip n slides and running through sprinklers
‘Clicking’ straight away with a new friend
Wiling away time with an old one
The smell of a summer downpour on blistering hot roads
Losing yourself enough to play like a kid, just for a moment
Taking your shoes off at the end of a loooong day
Ticking that very last thing off your to do list
Your mum still thinking your cool enough to hang out with
And last but not least, shoes. (That one’s for you girls!)
What would you add to this list? I would love to hear from you in the comments section!
With love
Lynda
PS. If you like what I have to say, feel free to ‘share it’ or ‘like it.’
I actually have a few
1. The smell of rain
2. Losing yourself in a really good book
3. That sense of contentment I get knowing that my children are safe n sound in bed asleep and dreaming.
Love, love, love them Nadia!
Thank you for sharing them with us 😉
